Monday, 27 May
Memorial Day. The weather is typical. Rain. We had family over for lunch and took the rest of the day to relax.
This evening was spent harvesting flowers and foliage for a few end-of-school-year flower jars that are going out, tomorrow.
Tuesday, 28 May
The weather was perfect, today. Sunny and warm but no humidity to contend with.
Flower jars were put together and sent out. I was nervous the whole time. Why?
Friday, 31 May
That’s a wrap! The last of the dahlias have been planted. And now we wait. Some of the earlier tubers I planted have greens emerging. The anticipation is already killing me. I think I’m looking forward to seeing Rhubarb & Custard the most.

How did this even happen? Where exactly has the year gone?
This morning was spent taking a class focusing on wedding bouquets. Not sure I’ll ever really go down that road but who knows. I had a lot of fun.
The afternoon was interesting. I took my dog to Rose Tree and a baby deer walked up to me. The tiniest thing I’ve ever seen. Its mother was nowhere in sight.
Sunday, 02 June
I spent the day weeding. And I planted more sunflowers. White Lite and White Nite. I have some seeds from Sunflower Steve that I’m going to start in late July. I want them ready for an event I’m doing in September.
I can’t stop thinking about the baby deer. I hope it’s ok.

No worries. Mother’s often leave their babies to forage for food for up to a day or two and then return.
