There’s something undeniably magical about a bouquet arriving at your door. But behind that lush color and fragrance is months of careful planning, nurturing, and love. At Hand & Flower (located in Media, PA) every subscription bouquet is more than just flowers. It’s the culmination of a growing journey.
It all begins with a plan. Before anything touches the soil, I think about the season, the colors, the textures, and the types of blooms that will play well together. Every month’s bouquet is curated, balancing classic favorites with seasonal surprises to create something that delights the senses and brings joy.
Then comes the growing process. It’s a labor of love, patience and attention. Seeds are started, seedlings are nurtured, and flowers are tended to daily, rain or shine. The beds are weeded, the plants fed with nutrient-rich solutions to encourage them to grown and healthy. Timing is everything: each bloom needs to be at its best just as your bouquet is ready to be harvested.
Harvest days (and nights!) are always exciting and my love for them never gets old. Stems are cut, conditioned, and arranged into bouquets that reflect the season. What might look effortless in a vase has actually been weeks (or even months) of growth, from seed (or bulb or corm or tuber!) to stem, to ensure it’s fresh for you.
Finally, your bouquet makes its journey from my garden to your doorstep, ready to bring joy to you and your home. Each delivery carries not just flowers, but the story of months of growth, planning, and care.
